Rutum Steels

Rutum Steels is over at 19-2-226/E on Miralam Tank Road in the Bahadurpura area. Being near the tank road means it can get a bit breezy, but mostly it is just hot and busy. Bahadurpura is a crowded place, and our shop fits right in. We deal in steel, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting involved. The space we have is filled with different kinds of steel rods and sheets. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because metal leaves a lot of dust and rust marks on the floor. I usually spend my time organizing the inventory so it doesn't get too messy. The noise from the street is constant—horns, people shouting, and the sound of rickshaws. We have a small stool near the front where I sit when there are no customers. It’s a simple life. We open up, we sell some steel, and we close down. There isn't any big secret to it. The building is old, and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it serves our purpose. People from around the neighborhood know us by now. We just keep doing what we do every day without making a big fuss about it. It is just a regular shop in a busy part of town. Sometimes we share a few jokes with the delivery drivers to keep the mood light while we work.
