R.S.Kiranam & General Store

Up in the Chintalmet area of Upparpally, you can find our shop right opposite the Muscular Master Gym. The address is 2-5-36/1/18. It’s a good spot because people going to the gym often stop by for a drink or a quick snack. We call it R.S.Kiranam & General Store. We keep everything from cooking oil and rice to bathroom cleaners and toothbrushes. The area has grown quite a bit recently, so there’s always something happening on the street outside. I keep the shop open until fairly late because that’s when most people come back from work and realize they need something for the next morning. It’s a one-man show mostly, so I’m the one stocking the shelves and talking to everyone who walks in. The gym across the road brings in a younger crowd, while the families from the apartments nearby come for their weekly groceries. I try to keep the prices reasonable so people keep coming back. It’s not a polished store with fancy displays; things are just stacked where they fit best on the shelves. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the road for a bit, and we have to hurry to get the boxes inside. It’s just the daily routine of running a store in Hyderabad. We’ve become a part of the local landscape over the years, and I like being the person the neighbors rely on when they run out of basic things at home.
