Royal Leather Stores

Chatta Bazar is a busy place. Royal Leather Stores is tucked in there at 22-7-298. It’s the kind of area where you have to watch your step because the lanes are narrow and there’s always someone carrying a heavy load. We’ve got stacks of leather everywhere. It has that specific smell—thick and earthy—that you get used to after five minutes but visitors always notice right away. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of wall space. Most of our day is spent talking to folks who come in looking for something specific, maybe a piece of hide for a project or a finished bag. We have a couple of wooden chairs that have seen better days where regulars sit and chat. Chatta Bazar has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the old walls. Sometimes the electricity acts up, or it gets too crowded to move, but that’s just how it is here. We keep our ledgers by hand mostly, sitting at the small desk near the front. Outside, you can hear the vendors calling out and the motorbikes trying to squeeze through the gaps. It’s loud, but when you’re inside the store, it feels a bit more settled. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team, just the storefront and the items we keep in stock for whoever walks through the door. It is just a simple shop where we do our business every day.
