Rayudu Juice

I set up Rayudu Juice over at 1-9-12 on Yella Reddy Guda Road. It’s right in the middle of Ameerpet, so it’s always crowded outside. I’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. The shop is small, just enough room for the fruit baskets and the machines. I spend a lot of time peeling oranges and cutting up watermelons throughout the day. People usually stop by when they’re waiting for a bus or walking to the metro. It gets really hot in this part of town, so a cold drink is what most people are looking for. I don’t have a fancy menu with hundreds of options. I just stick to what’s in season and what people like to drink. Sometimes the power goes out and I have to use the hand press, which is a bit more work. The street noise is constant, but you get used to it after a while. I know most of the shopkeepers on this block. We look out for each other. My counter is usually covered in fruit peels by noon, so I’m always cleaning. It’s just a simple juice stall, nothing more. I open up early and stay until the sun goes down. It’s not a glamorous job, but I like being my own boss and seeing the regular customers every day. Ameerpet never really sleeps, so there is always someone looking for a fresh drink.
