Ratna Junior College

Ratna Junior College has been sitting here in Narayanguda for quite some time now. Our address is a bit of a mouthful, House No 3-4-634/1, but most people around here just know us as the college near the main junction. It’s a busy area with lots of traffic and shops, so there’s always something going on outside our windows. The building itself is one of those older Hyderabad structures, tall and a bit narrow. We have students coming in for their intermediate courses, mostly in commerce and arts. It’s a lot of stairs to climb every day, which keeps us all active. The staff room is usually full of notebooks and tea cups. We don’t have a massive campus with a playground, but the students find their own spots to hang out during the breaks. We focus on getting through the syllabus and helping them prepare for their board exams. It gets very hectic around March and April, as you can imagine. Outside of those times, it’s a steady pace of lectures and small talk in the corridors. We’ve seen many batches of students pass through these doors. Some come back to visit and tell us where they’re working now. We’re just a local junior college trying to keep things running smoothly and making sure the students get their certificates on time. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do for the community here in Hyderabad.
