Ramesh Athasniya Co is up on the second floor of the building at 8 1 77 in Shivaji Nagar. We are chartered accountants, but we don't act all stiff like some of the bigger firms do. Secunderabad has been our home for a long time now. The office is tucked away, so you have to look for the stairs. It’s a lot of numbers and tax forms every day. We spend most of our time staring at spreadsheets or talking to the tax office on the phone. It’s not glamorous work, but someone has to do it. We’ve got stacks of files everywhere because we like to keep physical copies of everything for our records. It makes us feel more secure about the data we handle. The people who come to us are usually small business owners from around Shivaji Nagar. They trust us because we’ve been here and we don’t use confusing jargon. We just tell them what the situation is with their accounts. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty with all that paper, but we try to keep it tidy enough for visitors. We’ve been through many tax seasons here. Each one is a bit of a marathon, but we get through it. We aren't looking to become a giant firm. We just want to keep helping the people we already know and maybe a few new ones who find their way to the second floor.
