Running Raja Rajeshwara Kirana Merchants keeps us pretty busy from sunrise to late evening. We are located right in the middle of Sultan Bazar-Koti here in Hyderabad. It's a lively part of the city, and being in the 500095 zip code means there's always someone passing by. Our shop is mostly about the basics that every kitchen needs. We have bags of rice, different kinds of lentils, and spices that fill the air with a particular smell when you walk in. It’s not always perfectly tidy because we move a lot of stock in and out every day. Sometimes the floor has a bit of dust from the grain sacks, but that’s just how it is in a kirana store. We know many of our customers by name since they’ve been coming to us for years. They come in for their monthly supplies or just to grab a kilo of sugar they forgot to buy earlier. The street outside is always noisy with autos and people talking, but inside, we just focus on weighing things out and bagging them up. We don't use any fancy systems, just a simple way of doing things that works for us and the neighbors. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and rearranging the jars, but it’s what we know. We’re just a local merchant trying to keep the pantry staples ready for the Koti community. It's an honest day's work for all of us here.
