People know this spot on Jam Bagh Road because it is right opposite Mutha Traders. We are at 5-2-137 in Koti and have been here for a while now. Hyderabad can get very hot, so the shop stays a bit dark inside to keep things cool. We have bags of rice stacked up near the back and different oils sitting in bottles on the lower shelves. It is a busy area with lots of people walking past every minute. We open up early and start by cleaning the front step. The shelves are mostly full of basic stuff like salt, tea, and cleaning supplies that everyone in the neighborhood uses. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout a bit to hear what someone wants to buy. It is a simple setup with a glass jar of candies for the kids and a small calculator we use for the bills. We know most of the people who live around here by their first names. They come in for a small packet of biscuits or maybe some detergent. The walls could use a bit of paint but we are usually too busy moving boxes around to worry about that. It is just how a local shop should be, nothing special to look at but dependable. We spend the evening sorting through new stock that arrived in the morning.
