Over at Plot No 7A in Moosarambagh, you’ll find us at Rahmath Fruit Banana Cool Store. We’ve been operating out of Dilsukh Nagar at D. No 16-11-741-C/7/A for a good while. Our days start very early, usually before the sun is even up. That's when the fruit arrives and we have to get everything situated. The cool store is basically where we keep the bananas at the right temperature so they don't go bad too fast. It’s a lot of lifting crates and checking on the stock. It’s cold inside, which is nice when the weather outside is hot, but it can get chilly after a few hours. We aren't doing anything high-tech; it's just about keeping the fruit fresh. The Moosarambagh area is always moving, and we are just a small part of that. People know us for being there consistently. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the fruit, and the cold storage units. Sometimes the trucks are late, or the ripening takes a different amount of time, but that’s just the business. We focus on getting the bananas ready for the local markets. It’s a simple, practical job that we’ve been doing for years. We keep the place clean and just keep moving the crates in and out. It’s hard work on the back, but someone has to do it, so we do. That's life at the cool store.
