Punam Mart

Punam Mart is located at 24-6-90 in the Prashant Nagar neighborhood. It’s a residential area, so we don't get the heavy industrial noise you find in other parts of the city. We’re basically a local shop that grew out of a small room in the front of the house. It’s a family-run thing where my wife and I take turns watching the counter. Most of our customers are just people living on the same street or the next one over. They come in for their daily needs and we usually end up chatting about the weather or how the local school is doing. The space is a bit cramped because we try to stock as much as possible to save people a trip to the bigger markets further away. We have shelves for groceries and a small fridge that hums a bit too loudly in the quiet afternoons. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in after school for snacks, and that’s usually the loudest part of our day. We don’t have any big corporate goals or things like that. We just want to make sure the shelves are full and the prices are fair for our neighbors. It’s a simple life. We close up around eight in the evening, have our dinner, and get ready to do it all again the next day. It’s nothing fancy, just a small mart in a quiet part of town.
