Prince Tea Emporium

If you’re walking down Old Post Office Road in Erragadda, you’ll probably smell us before you see us. We are right across from the Sri Chaitanya Nursing Home at 8-4-519/B. It’s a busy little stretch of road. People are always coming and going from the clinic or the post office, and many of them stop in for a bit of tea. We have these big sacks of tea leaves lined up, and the air is just thick with that earthy scent. It’s not a fancy cafe with couches; it’s more of a traditional emporium where you get your supplies and maybe stay for a quick cup. The wooden counters have been worn smooth over the years from all the bags being slid across them. We have a few regular customers who have been coming since we first opened. They don't even have to say what they want anymore. We just know. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road and people get a bit annoyed, but that’s just life in Erragadda. My hands are usually stained a bit brown from handling the leaves all day. It’s hard to get it off, but I don’t mind. It shows we’ve been working. We don’t have any fancy signs or slogans. The tea speaks for itself, and as long as people keep coming back, we’ll keep the doors open and the kettle hot for everyone.
