Pramod Kumar Kirana

My shop, Pramod Kumar Kirana, is located at 22-6-555 in the Miralam Mandi area of Hyderabad. It’s a very old part of the city, right near the Mirchowk Police Station and not far from Charminar. This area is always full of people and noise, which I like. We sell all the usual groceries like pulses, rice, spices, and oil. It is a small space, so we have to stack things high up to the ceiling sometimes. My family has been around Charminar for a long while. The shop is tucked into the lanes where people do their daily vegetable shopping. It’s a 500002 postcode area, and most of my customers are just the families who live in the apartments nearby. I try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to go too far for their cooking needs. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time getting through the narrow streets near the police station, but we manage. It’s a lot of work lifting bags of grain, but it keeps me busy. I don't really do much advertising because people just know where we are. If you are walking through Miralam Mandi, you’ll probably see me sitting out front or helping someone with their bags. We just do our business quietly and honestly. It’s just a normal kirana store for the local crowd and we like being part of this community.
