Our council is located at Door No. 15-9-421/3 in Maharaja Gunj. That is right in the Afzalgunj area, with the pincode 500001. Being in this part of the city means it is always loud and full of energy. Maharaja Gunj is a busy market area, so there are people moving around constantly. Our office is tucked into one of these buildings. It’s a bit of an older structure, but it has plenty of character. We don't have much room for fancy stuff, so we just keep it simple with the essentials. The sounds of the street come in through the windows sometimes. You get used to the honking and the shouting of the vendors after a while. We stay busy with our own tasks throughout the day. It’s a lot of talking and organizing things within these walls. If you are coming to visit, it is probably best to walk or take an auto because parking is nearly impossible in Afzalgunj. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It feels like home to us now. The building is a bit cramped, but we make it work for everyone. We don't use any corporate jargon here. We just do the work and try to stay on top of our list. It’s a very local way of running things and that suits us just fine. Every day is a bit different.
