Out here in Om Nagar Colony, near the Ashok Nagar X Road, we have our little setup for vinyl cutting. It is basically a room with a few computers and the cutting machines. The main machine makes a very specific whirring noise when it is tracing out the letters or shapes. We spend a lot of time weeding out the tiny bits of extra vinyl with little pointed tools. It is tedious work and can really hurt your eyes after a few hours. Domalguda is a good area, and we get a lot of locals dropping in. The floor is usually covered in scraps of colored plastic by the end of the day. We try to sweep up, but the bits are static and stick to everything. Our desks are a bit cluttered with rolls of different colors—reds, blues, and plenty of white and black. We don't have a big storefront or anything fancy. It is just a workspace where we sit and get the designs ready. Sometimes the software acts up, and we have to restart everything, which is a bit of a pain. People come in with their ideas, and we do our best to get the cutter to follow the lines. It's a lot of sitting and watching the blade move back and forth. We keep a small radio in the corner just to have some background noise while we work. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we enjoy seeing the finished stickers.
