Om Sai Krishna Kirana & General Store

Om Sai Krishna Kirana & General Store is located at Shop No. 2-91, right near the Bhel Check Post and Rythu Bazar in Lingampally. Being so close to the vegetable market means it’s always crowded and loud around our shop. I open up early because people want to buy their supplies when they come for their morning vegetables. We sell everything from cooking oil to soap and small toys for kids. The shop is small and the shelves are packed all the way to the ceiling. I have to use a long stick with a hook to get things from the top. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially when it gets busy and five people are asking for different things at once. I usually have a helper with me to weigh the items and pack them. We don't have fancy shopping carts, just small baskets or people bring their own bags. The floor is made of old tiles that have some cracks, but it doesn't bother anyone. We know most of the people who live in the Bhel colony and they’ve been coming to us for years. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs when the shop is quiet for a bit. We don't have a big mission or anything, we just want to make sure the locals can get their daily groceries without any trouble. It’s a simple life behind the counter here in Lingampally.
