Oakridge International School

Oakridge is located out on Nanakram Guda Road, near Khajaguda Village. It’s funny how much this area has developed lately. It used to be just open land, but now Madhapur is right on our doorstep with all its tall buildings. The school sits on a good piece of land. We have plenty of space, which is nice because the city is getting so cramped everywhere else. Every morning, buses pull in from all over the city. It’s a long drive for some of the kids, but they seem to handle it okay. The building is large, and we have to do a lot of walking just to get from one wing to another. We aren't really into the whole "prestigious" vibe; we just try to keep the place running smoothly. There are always kids running around or playing out on the fields when the weather isn't too hot. The teachers are usually busy with lesson plans or grading papers in the staff rooms. It’s a lot of coordination to keep a school this size functioning. We deal with the usual stuff like broken projectors or keeping the canteen stocked for lunch. It’s a practical environment. We don’t spend much time on grand speeches. We just focus on the classes and making sure the students have what they need for the day. It’s a big community, but it feels like a small village sometimes because everyone knows each other. The Khajaguda village nearby still has its old charm, even with all the big glass buildings creeping closer.
