Novelty Bangles Emporium

If you ever go to Lad Bazar, you’ll know how busy it is. We are at No. 21-2-288/1, right in the middle of all that noise and color. Novelty Bangles Emporium has been a part of this market for a long time. The shop is narrow but it goes back quite a bit, and every inch of the walls is covered with boxes of bangles. We have the ones with the shiny stones that Hyderabad is famous for, and also the plain lac ones. It’s always a bit of a squeeze when more than three customers come in at once, but we manage. In the evenings, the lights make everything sparkle, which looks nice I guess. We spend our time showing different sets to ladies who are getting ready for Eid or a family wedding. Sometimes we have to custom make a set by mixing different colors together to get it just right. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We don't do any big marketing stuff, we just rely on people walking by and liking what they see in the window. The guys in the next shop over usually come by for a chat when it's slow. It’s a lot of standing around and talking, and by the end of the day, our backs usually ache, but it’s a good kind of tired. Hopefully, we will stay here for many more years doing the same thing.
