Nims Hospital

Nims Hospital, or Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences as some call it, is located right in Punjgutta. It’s a massive place. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know how hectic the traffic can be right outside our gates. Inside, it’s a whole different world of corridors and wards. I’ve worked here for a while and I still find new corners of the building sometimes. It’s a government-run spot, so things are very practical. We don't have fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s all about the patients. There are always people sitting in the waiting areas, some who have traveled a long way to get here. The doctors and nurses are always on the move, rushing from one floor to another. We have a lot of different departments, so you see all kinds of medical cases. It’s a 24-hour operation, so the lights never really go out. It can be exhausting, honestly. The smell of the hospital is something you just get used to after the first week. We do our best to keep things moving, even when the computer systems are slow or the patient load is higher than usual. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. We just show up, do the work, and hope for the best for everyone who comes in.
