New Royal General & Kirana Store.

Our shop is right in the middle of the Nampally Market in Hyderabad. The address is Shop No 11-2-248/3/4, which sounds complicated but we are actually quite easy to find if you are near Masjid Tek. The market area is always buzzing with energy, and there is a lot of history in these streets. We call it New Royal General & Kirana Store. Every morning, we have to deal with the madness of the market, getting our goods through the narrow lanes while everyone else is trying to do the same. The smell of tea and street food is always in the air here. We sell all the usual kirana items you’d expect—rice, oils, spices, and general household goods. The shop is quite deep, so we have plenty of room for storage in the back, though it gets a bit dark back there. We spend a lot of time talking to the regular shoppers and the people who work at the other stalls. It’s a community, really. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights, but that’s just part of being in an old market like Nampally. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Hyderabad; we just want to make sure the people who come to us find what they need for their kitchens. We keep the counters clean, or at least we try to, and wait for the evening rush to begin.
