If you come down to Gayatri Nagar near Moula Ali in the Ecil area, you will find us right opposite Gayatri Towers. Famous Sofa & Bed Makers is basically a workshop where there is always sawdust on the floor and the sound of hammers. We are right beside the Hanuman Temple, so we hear the bells and the prayers throughout the day. It’s a small shop packed with wood, fabric, and foam. We have been making furniture here for a long time and our hands show it. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny; it’s a place where things are actually built by hand. Most of the time, we are covered in dust and trying to finish a frame or stitch up a cushion for someone’s home. We don't have a website or any of that, we just rely on people seeing our work or hearing about us from their neighbors. It can get a bit messy with all the scraps and tools lying around, but we know where everything is. Each piece takes time and we don't like to rush things because that is how mistakes happen. We take breaks when it gets too hot and chat with the people passing by on the way to the temple. It is honest work and it keeps us going even on the long days when we have a lot to finish.
