Mohammed General Store

Down in King Koti, our little shop sits at 3-5-780/24/A. It’s a busy part of Hyderabad, so there’s always something going on outside. We’ve been running Mohammed General Store for years now. It is basically a place where you can find anything from a pen to a bag of rice. I usually open up the shutters around eight in the morning. The neighbors come by for their morning milk or some tea leaves. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes I have trouble finding where I put the smaller items, but we usually find them eventually. The building has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. People around King Koti are mostly in a rush, so we try to be quick. We aren’t a big supermarket, just a corner store. My uncle used to help out here too. It’s just how we get by. Hyderabad is changing, but this shop stays mostly the same. We handle the 500001 area and see a lot of regulars. It gets dusty with all the traffic, so I’m always cleaning the jars. If you need something quick and don’t want to go to the big mall, you just walk over here. It’s just a plain store for the people who live nearby. We do our best to stay stocked up and keep the shop running smoothly for everyone who stops in for their daily bits.
