Manikanta Kirana Stores is our place at 6-3-1247/218/A in Mather Sabu Makta. We are also in the Ms Maqtha part of Hyderabad, sitting right opposite Raj Bhavan. It is a very busy spot to be in, with cars and people moving past all day long. Our shop is one of those places where we know exactly where every single jar and packet is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone else. We deal in all the usual kirana goods like flours, spices, and soaps. The 500001 neighborhood is where we spend our whole day, from the early morning light until we pull the shutters down at night. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything, mostly just keeping track of things as we go. The shop floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are packed high to make sure we have variety. Sometimes we have to move three things just to get to one, but that’s just how it goes in a small shop. Being opposite Raj Bhavan means people use us as a landmark sometimes. We are just a local family-run type of business. No one here wears a uniform and we don't have big sales pitches. We just try to keep the staples in stock so the people living around Ms Maqtha don't have to go far. It’s a practical way to earn a living in a busy city.
