Mamata General Hospital

Mamata General Hospital is tucked away in Hafiz Baba Nagar. To be exact, it’s at H.No. 18-8-412/B/72. It’s a residential part of the city, so the hospital feels more like a part of the neighborhood than a big institution. We get a lot of people walking in from the nearby houses. The morning starts early here, usually around seven when we start tidying up and getting ready for whoever might show up first. It’s a general place, so we see a bit of everything, from fevers to small injuries that need a bandage. The rooms are basic and we don't have any of those flashy signs or expensive decorations you see in the private clinics downtown. It’s just white walls and tile floors that we scrub every single day. I’ve been working here for a while and it’s mostly about keeping things organized and making sure the patients are comfortable while they wait. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with kids playing or motorbikes zooming by, but we’re used to it. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy things for us. We just provide a place for people to come when they are sick. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it’s what we do. Nothing more to it than that, really.
