Mallikarjun Steel Traders

You can find Mallikarjun Steel Traders on the Hyderabad Road. We are directly opposite Asian Traders. They have a much bigger warehouse than us, so we are easy to spot if you look for them first. Dealing with steel is heavy and dirty work. The yard is usually full of pipes and bars. It’s not a place where you want to wear your best shoes. The sun beats down on the metal all day, making it hot to the touch. We have a small office where we keep the books. It’s got an old desk and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We don't have any polished sales pitches. We just tell you what we have and what it costs. The road outside is always busy with trucks and buses going toward the city. The noise is something you just get used to after a few weeks. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost and call us ten times. I tell them just look for the big Asian Traders sign and we are right there. The ground gets muddy when it rains. There’s no big corporate structure here. It’s just me and a couple of helpers. We’ve been doing this for years now. The district is changing, but our corner of the road stays pretty much the same. We just keep working and hope the weather stays clear.
