Mahaveer Agency is located at 1-4-21 on S D Road in Shivaji Nagar. It’s an area that has been around for a long time, so the streets are narrow and always full of life. Our building is one of those older structures that has seen better days, but it has a lot of history. We occupy a small space on the ground floor. It’s mostly just a few desks, some sturdy filing cabinets for all the paperwork, and a couple of chairs for when people stop by to chat. S D Road is a major thoroughfare, so there is never a dull moment. You can hear the rickshaws honking and the street vendors calling out all day long. We don’t have any air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that spins around and around. It gets a bit hot in the summer, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been running this agency for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. We know most of the people on the block, from the man who sells newspapers to the shopkeepers next door. Our work is pretty straightforward and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We just come in, do our filing, talk to our clients, and then lock up the big wooden doors in the evening. It’s a modest way to work, but it’s our daily routine and we like the familiarity of it.
