Our place is over at Plot No. 13 in the Software Unit Layout, right on Vbit Park Road in Madhapur. It sounds like a techy area, and I guess it is, but what we do at Bayer Bioscience is more about the ground and the crops. We spend our days in the labs and the test plots, looking at seeds and plants. Hyderabad is a busy city, and Madhapur is the heart of the noise, but once you step inside our gates, it’s all about the science. We aren't wearing suits here; it’s mostly lab coats or work shirts that have seen better days. The work is slow and needs a lot of patience, waiting for things to grow or for test results to come back from the machines. We’ve got a lot of people who have been here since the early days, and we all know the best places to get biryani nearby for lunch. The office is functional, with lots of folders and sample bags everywhere. We don't put on a show for anyone; we just show up, do the research, and try to figure out how to make things grow better. It’s a routine of recording numbers and checking temperatures, day after day. It’s practical, quiet work in a very loud part of town.
