M A Kirana & General Store

Our place, M A Kirana & General Store, is located at a bit of a long address in Hyderabad, specifically at S No 19-4-340/54/49/45/5 in Arsh Mahal. It sounds complicated, but locals find us just fine. Hyderabad is a big city and Arsh Mahal has its own vibe, very busy and full of life. We sell all the regular kirana goods like pulses, rice, spices, and soaps. The store isn't very wide, but it goes back a bit into the building. We keep the sacks open so people can see the quality of the grains before they buy. It gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, so there is a lot of sweeping to do every morning and evening. We have a small television in the corner that we keep on for the news or some cricket when a match is on. People often linger for a minute to check the score while we weigh out their lentils. We’ve been running this for a while and we know how much of each item to order so things don't go stale. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around, which can be tiring on the back, but it's okay. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer to come by for their morning milk or eggs. It's a living.
