Working at Aga Publications Ltd. means dealing with a lot of paper and ink smells every day. We are located at 396, Lower Tank Bund in Hyderabad, which is a busy area to say the least. From the windows, you can see the traffic piling up near the water. The shelves in our office are sagging under the weight of all the books and journals we have printed over the years. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of boxes waiting to be sent out. Someone is always running the copier or checking a proof for errors. We have an old kettle in the corner that we use for making coffee when the deadlines get tight. The walls are covered in old posters from past projects. It is not a silent library vibe here at all; it is actually quite noisy with people talking and phones ringing. Hyderabad gets really hot, so we usually keep the blinds pulled down during the afternoon. The delivery boys are always coming in and out with their clips and bags. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger. It is a simple setup but it works for what we do. Sometimes the smell of the lake comes in if the wind is blowing the right way. We just keep our heads down and focus on the pages. There are stacks of paper everywhere you look.
