Laxmi Narsimha Kirana & General Store

You can find our store at 17-5-42 on Narsapur Road in Gagillapur which is part of the Dundigal area. It’s a typical local shop where we keep a bit of everything on the shelves. From lentils and rice to soap and small toys for the kids we try to have what people need for their daily lives. I spend most of my day standing behind the wooden counter waiting for customers to come in. The road outside is quite busy with trucks and cars going towards Narsapur so there is always a bit of noise and dust in the air. We have a small television in the corner that we watch when things are slow. Many of the people who come in are regulars who live just a few streets away. We know their names and what they usually buy so we can have it ready for them. If someone is a bit short on cash we usually just mark it down in our credit book and they pay us back later. It’s a very local way of doing things and it’s based on trust. The shop isn't very modern and the lighting is a bit dim but it has everything a person might need in a hurry. We don't do any big promotions or sales. We just stay open from early morning until late at night to serve the community here in Gagillapur.
