Lakshmi Ganapate Store

Our store is over at 6-9-590 in Ampethkar Colony. We are right near the Government Vetnory Hospital. It’s an interesting spot because we see people bringing in all sorts of animals, mostly cows and dogs, to the hospital across the way. The colony itself is a mix of houses and small shops like ours. We sell the usual household stuff that people run out of. I start the day by cleaning the front area and checking what needs to be ordered. It’s a family-run place, so my son helps out when he isn't at his classes. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to stack things pretty high up. I use a small wooden ladder to reach the top shelves. It’s not a fancy supermarket with air conditioning. We just have a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. The street is usually quiet except for when there's a lot of activity at the hospital. We’ve been at this address for a long time. Most of the people who come in are neighbors from the colony. We talk about the weather or the local news while I bag their items. It’s a steady way to make a living. Nothing very exciting happens here, but we like the routine. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It's just a simple, local store.
