Komal Kirana Store

The shop is right on Suncity Main Road in Attapur. We are very close to Balaji Papalal Mithai Bhandar, so you can usually smell the sweets being made next door while I am working. Being at Shop No 1 means I see everyone passing by. It gets busy in the evenings when families go out for a walk. I’ve lived in Hyderabad my whole life and this store is where I spend most of my hours. It is packed with all kinds of stuff from floor to ceiling. Sometimes I have to climb a ladder just to find a specific brand of soap a customer wants. I don't have a team of people helping me, it’s mostly just me managing the stock and the cash. The traffic outside can be a bit loud but you get used to it. I keep snacks, pulses, oils, and the usual household things. My handwriting on the bills isn't always the clearest, but the numbers are right. I don't use a computer for everything; the old notebook works fine for most days. Customers often stop for a chat while I weigh their dal. It makes the day go faster. This part of Attapur has changed a lot, but my little corner stays pretty much the same. I've seen kids grow up and start coming here with their own children now.
