Started at Shed No. 6- B in the Type 3 part of the Industrial Estate here in Kukatpally. It’s a busy area. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. You can hear the hum of the neighboring units even before we pull up the shutters. It’s mostly just us and the machines. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait it out, maybe grab a tea at the corner. There’s a lot of grease on the floor no matter how often we sweep it. People come by looking for specific parts or help with a machine that’s acting up. We spend a lot of time just looking at blueprints or checking tolerances. It isn’t a fancy place. The walls are a bit stained from the oil and smoke. Kukatpally can get really crowded in the evenings, so we try to get the heavy loading done before the traffic picks up on the main road. The shed is sturdy enough, though. It’s been our base for quite a while now. We know the other guys in Type 3 pretty well. We borrow tools from each other sometimes. It’s just the way things work around here. Nothing too complicated, just a lot of manual work and making sure the gears are turning right. By the time evening comes, we’re all pretty tired and covered in dust, but the work is done.
