This place is actually run from Palivela in East Godavari, at the home of Thilak, son of Tatarao. It’s a very different vibe from the big city offices in Hyderabad. Here in the 533229 area, things move a bit slower. Jntu Hyd has this small contact point here to help people in the district who can't always travel. It’s basically a room in a house where we keep all the records and books. You can hear the birds and the local village sounds while we work. It’s a simple life out here. We don't have a lot of staff, just a couple of us who know the local people and how things work around here. When someone needs help with their university work, they just come over and talk to us. We don't have formal visiting hours or anything like that. If the light is on, we're probably working. We have a lot of registers that we fill out by hand. The internet can be a bit slow sometimes, so we rely on physical copies for a lot of things. It gets very humid here, so we keep the windows open to get a breeze. Thilak’s family has been here a long time, so everyone knows where to find us. It’s not a grand university building with pillars, just a regular house where we do our best to keep things moving for the students who live far away from the main campus.
