Jai Bhavani Kirana & General Store

Located in Habeeb Nagar-Nampally, our shop is at a place many locals call the "Katta". The official shop number is 2, in the Afzal Safar area. It’s a very old part of Hyderabad, and the streets are quite narrow. Jai Bhavani Kirana & General Store has been serving this little corner for a long time. We sell all the basic groceries that a kitchen needs. I usually spend the mornings weighing out portions of sugar or tea leaves for the regular customers. We have a lot of jars on the counter filled with sweets and small snacks. It’s a friendly place where people stop to chat for a few minutes while they wait for their change. The weather can be tough, especially when it’s hot, but the shop stays relatively cool because of how the buildings are clustered together. We are near Nampally, so it’s easy for us to get our stock from the bigger wholesalers. I don’t use any computer for the bills, just a simple notebook and a pen. It’s how I’ve always done it. Sometimes we run out of something popular, and I have to tell the neighbors to wait until tomorrow when the new stock arrives. It’s just a small, honest shop where we try to have what people need at a fair price without any fuss. The fan on the ceiling creaks a bit, but it keeps the air moving and helps us stay through the day.
