Jai Bhavani Kirana & General Store

Jai Bhavani Kirana & General Store is tucked away on Mahankali Temple Street in the Badichowdi area. Our address is 4-2-525, and we are not far from the Sultan Bazar Police Station. It is a very busy street with people going to the temple or the market nearby. We sell all kinds of groceries, like lentils, spices, sugar, and tea. The shop is small and can feel a bit cramped when there are more than three or four people inside at once. We have bags of grains stacked up on the floor and shelves filled with jars of snacks. Every morning starts with unpacking crates of milk and bread for the neighborhood. It’s a routine we’ve followed for years. We don't have any computerized billing system; we just do it by hand or use a simple calculator. Sometimes the street gets so loud with temple bells and traffic that it’s hard to talk to the customers, but we make it work. Most people who shop here are our neighbors who have lived in Sultan Bazar for a long time. They know where everything is kept in the shop almost as well as we do. We just try to keep the basics in stock so no one has to go too far for their daily cooking needs. It is a humble place, and we just focus on keeping the doors open and serving the local crowd. We’ve been here for years and the shop is like a second home.
