Indian Statistical Institute

Down here in Hyderabad, the Indian Statistical Institute is located right on the ISI Campus in Habshiguda. We are over at Street Number 8, and specifically, you can find G Murali Rao at Quarters Number A3. It’s a nice enough campus, pretty green compared to the rest of the busy city outside. We’ve been part of this neighborhood in the 500007 area for quite some time. It’s mostly researchers and students around here, so it stays fairly intellectual but in a quiet, low-key way. We don't go in for big displays or corporate branding. It’s just a place where people sit down and do the hard work of statistics. The quarters are old-school, which is fine by us. It feels more like a community than just an office building. Sometimes the heat in Hyderabad gets to be a bit much, but we have our fans and our work to keep us occupied. We are just a small part of the bigger institute, focusing on our specific projects here in AP. Most of our days are spent looking at charts or attending small meetings on the campus. It’s a steady kind of life. We like being in Habshiguda because it’s easy to get to, and it has everything we need nearby. No need for anything fancy when the work speaks for itself. We just enjoy the quiet environment and get on with our tasks as they come to us.
