Glow Tree Foundation

We are located at H No 10-2-180/502 in West Marredpally. Our foundation is called Glow Tree. It’s a bit of a funny name, but it stuck after we sat around one night trying to think of something that sounded hopeful. We’re on the fifth floor, so we get a decent view of the rooftops in Marredpally, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the computer. The office isn’t much to talk about—just a couple of rooms with some chairs and a very old filing cabinet that squeaks every time you open it. We started Glow Tree because we felt like the kids in this part of town needed more stuff to do after school, or maybe some extra help with their books. We aren't teachers, just people who care about the neighborhood. Usually, there’s a lot of paper everywhere and someone is always looking for a pen that actually works. We don't have a polished way of doing things. We just hear about a problem and try to fix it if we can. Some days are slow and we just drink a lot of coffee, and other days it feels like everyone is calling at once. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our chaos. We like being part of the community here. If you’re ever in West Marredpally, you can find us up on the fifth floor, provided the lift is working that day.
