Ghouse Kirana Store

Ghouse Kirana Store is located at 51-22-12 on Md Line Road in the Toli Chowki area. It’s a small shop that’s been serving the people around here for a long time. We carry all the basics like pulses, rice, oils, and the snacks that the kids like. The space is small, so we have things stacked up high on the wooden shelves. It’s mostly just me and sometimes my nephew helping out when it gets busy. Toli Chowki is always a bit chaotic with the traffic and the people, so the store feels like a busy little corner of that. We don't have a computer system or anything, just a notebook where we jot down what people owe or what we need to buy from the wholesale market. The fan overhead hums all day, and we usually have a small radio playing in the background. Customers come in for a single item or a whole month's worth of grains. We know who likes which brand of tea and who wants their items packed in a specific way. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to the neighbors while we weigh out the sugar or the flour. The place isn't modern, but it works for us and the people who live on this street. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in and say hello. It's a simple life really, just making sure everyone gets what they need to go about their week.
