Gayathri Motor Driving School

Our shop is right there in Peerzadi Guda, near the Peerzadiguda Kaman in Hyderabad. It is a busy little area, and Gayathri Motor Driving School is tucked right into the mix of shops there. Most of our day is spent either in the small office chair or out in the training car. We have been here long enough that the locals know us by sight. The area around the Kaman can get really crowded, so we usually take the learners to some of the quieter side streets first before we brave the main Hyderabad roads. There is always a lot of dust from the construction nearby, so the cars need a wash almost every single day. We keep the registration books and the schedules on a wooden desk that’s seen a lot of use. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is quiet enough to read the newspaper. We don't have any fancy simulators or anything, just real cars and real roads. Teaching someone to drive takes a lot of patience, and we’ve had our fair share of close calls with the brakes. It is just a regular shop where we help neighbors get their license and learn how to navigate the city streets without getting into trouble. Every day is different depending on who is behind the wheel.
