Gandhi Iron & Steel Company

Gandhi Iron & Steel Company is located at Plot No 44-1 on Gangammachari Street. That is over in Moti Nagar, which is part of the larger Rabindranath Tagore Nagar area. It is a bit of a crowded street sometimes, especially when the delivery trucks are trying to back in. We have been around this neighborhood for a good bit. The street has its own rhythm, and most of the people nearby know where Plot No 44-1 is. We mostly deal with iron and steel bars and whatever else people need for their building projects. It is a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. The workspace is not very large, but it works for what we do. We usually start pretty early in the morning when it is still a bit cool outside. RT Nagar has changed a lot over the years, but our spot on Gangammachari Street stays pretty much the same. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork if we can help it. Usually, we are out there checking the stacks or talking to the drivers. It is a straightforward business. No one here wears a suit. We are just local workers doing the job. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and we have to cover everything up fast. But that is just how it goes here in Moti Nagar. We keep the gates open and just keep at it day after day.
