Gajewel College Of Education is found at 16-2-61/12/A-23 in the Akberbagh area of Malakpet. Being in Hyderabad, it’s always a bit of a rush outside with the traffic on the main roads. The building itself is tucked into a side street, so it’s not as noisy as you might expect. We have several rooms dedicated to the different subjects for the teacher training courses. The walls are painted a simple off-white, and there are posters about education and psychology pinned up on the notice boards. Most of our students are adults who are working hard to get their degrees. There’s a small canteen nearby where everyone goes for biryani or tea during the long afternoon breaks. The elevator in the building is a bit slow, so most of us just take the stairs to the second floor. We have a computer lab, but sometimes the internet is a bit patchy, so we have to wait for things to load. The office is usually piled high with files and application forms that need to be sorted. It’s a practical place without any fancy decorations. We spend a lot of time talking to students about their exams and their future teaching jobs. The heat in Malakpet can be intense, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze there is. It’s a busy, functional spot where people come to get their work done every single day.
