Esic Model Hospital Nacharam

Working in Nacharam means we see a lot of the industrial workforce. The hospital is right in the thick of it. It’s a practical place, built to handle a lot of people at once. The floors are hard stone and they echo when it’s quiet, which isn’t very often. During the monsoon, the entrance gets a bit muddy from all the boots, so we’re always mopping. We’ve got a system for the OPD, but when the crowd is big, the system feels a bit strained. You’ll see mothers with kids and older men waiting for their blood pressure checks. The staff room is small and we usually just grab a quick coffee before heading back to the wards. We don't have any of those high-tech screens showing wait times; we just call out names when it's time. It’s a bit old-school that way. The windows look out onto the busy streets of Nacharam, and you can always hear the traffic. It’s not a place for a quiet getaway, that’s for sure. It’s a place for getting treated and getting back to work. We keep the medicine cabinets full and the records as organized as we can. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real part of the neighborhood, and we’re just here doing the daily grind like everyone else.
