Vijayawada is a busy place, especially around Kedareswarao Pet. Our shop is tucked away on 8th Lane at 18-10-11. It is a narrow street, so parking is always a bit of a mess. I’ve spent many years in this spot. The walls have some old posters that have faded from the sun. We get a lot of foot traffic from people walking to the main market. I usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly news or old songs. The counter is wooden and a bit scratched up from all the metal parts we slide across it. We handle a lot of small repairs and sell basic components. It’s not a polished business. My chair squeaks every time I lean back. People come in complaining about their broken gear, and I try to see what can be done. Often, it's just a loose wire. The light in the back of the shop flickers, which is annoying, but I’m used to it. 8th Lane has its own rhythm. We see the same faces every morning. I don’t use any big words or fancy talk with the customers. We just talk about what’s wrong with their stuff and how much it might cost. It’s a honest day’s work. I usually close up when the sun goes down and head home. The heat in the afternoon can be tough, so I have a small table fan that works when the power is on. It's just home for me.
