Our spot is in Raghavendra Colony, Malkajgiri. The house number is 9-160. It’s a pretty standard colony house with a gate that sticks if you don't lift it up while pulling. Malkajgiri is always dusty because there’s always some road work or construction happening nearby. We get a lot of dust on the windowsills, so we’ve stopped trying to clean them every day. Inside, it’s just a few desks and a lot of wires. We have a small balcony where we keep the mops and some extra chairs. It’s a very local vibe here. You can hear the vegetable sellers calling out their prices in the street every morning. The light in the main room flickers sometimes, probably some old wiring issue we haven't bothered to fix yet. We don't have any big signs or posters on the walls. It’s mostly just calendars and some notes scribbled on the whiteboards. Being in a residential colony means we have to be careful about where we park so we don't block the neighbors' gates. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the school bus comes by and everything gets loud for ten minutes. We usually just have some tea, do our work, and lock up by six. The floors are stone and they get pretty dusty, but it feels like a real place. We have an old sofa in the corner for guests, but the spring is broken, so you have to sit on the left side.
