Coffee Point

Being on the Tirupati Highway means we see a lot of different faces. We are located in Kendatti Village, at 86/4. It’s a dusty spot because of all the trucks and buses going past. We open early because travelers like to stop for a quick drink before the sun gets too high. The shop is small and we don't have much indoor seating. Most people just stand outside or lean against their cars. We have a big sign, but the paint is peeling a bit from the sun. The wind blows a lot of dirt in, so we are constantly wiping down the tables. We keep the tea and coffee hot in big thermoses and boilers. It’s a fast-paced place. People are always in a hurry to get back on the road. We also sell some biscuits and water bottles. Sometimes the highway gets blocked by a breakdown and we get really crowded all of a sudden. It can be stressful, but we manage. My brother helps me run the place. We live nearby, so it’s not a long walk to work. We don't have any fancy machines, just the basic stuff to make a good hot cup of coffee. It’s a humble spot for travelers to take a five-minute break. We hope the road is safe for them as they leave. The lights stay on until the last bus passes in the evening.
