Being in Begum Bazar means you have to be ready for anything. Our shop, Choice Men’S Garments, is tucked away in the Nagar Khana section. We specialize in men's clothing, ranging from simple cotton shirts to more formal trousers for office wear. It’s a no-frills kind of place. We don’t have those fancy mannequins in the window; we just display what we have on the hangers. People come here because they know they can find a standard fit without paying for a brand name. My cousin helps me out on the weekends when the market gets really packed. We see all kinds of people, from students looking for a cheap shirt to older men who want something comfortable for the temple. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the shop, so we often take the cloth to the front door so the customer can see the real color in the sunlight. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess. We keep a stock of different sizes, though sometimes the extra-large stuff sells out faster than we expect. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the way we sell clothes stays pretty much the same. Just honest talk and a fair price for a piece of clothing that will last you a while. We keep the shutters open until the last customer leaves and the street goes dark.
