Ovis Equipments operates out of Shed No. 43 in the IDA, Phase II. It’s an industrial shed like any other in this area. We’ve got high ceilings and a lot of heavy tools lying around. The floors are a bit stained with oil and there’s usually the sound of welding or grinding going on. We make different kinds of equipment, so there are always parts stacked up in the corners. It’s not a climate-controlled office; it gets hot and the fans just move the air around. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the orders and the phone. Most of us wear heavy boots and work clothes because it’s a messy environment. We get our supplies delivered by trucks that back right up to the shed door. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find enough space when a big project is in the middle of the floor. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just come to the shed and look at what’s being built. It’s a small team, and we all know how to fix the machines when they break down. We don’t use corporate jargon or have big meetings. We just look at the drawings and start working. It’s basic, honest work in a dusty part of the industrial estate.
