Chandrashekhar Kirana Shop

Chandrashekhar Kirana Shop is located right on the Main Road in Asifnagar, at house number 76-97-5. Being on the main road means we get a lot of dust from the passing cars and buses, so we spend a good chunk of our morning just dusting off the packets and jars. It’s a typical kirana store with bags of rice sitting on the floor and small items hanging from the ceiling. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the locals in Asifnagar know us well. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is picking up things for dinner. We don’t have a computer system or anything; we just write things down in a ledger and use a simple calculator. The space is a bit tight, especially when the new stock arrives and we have to find a place for all the crates. It’s hard work, and the hours are long, starting early and closing late at night. There’s always something that needs to be refilled or moved around. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a plain shop that does what it’s supposed to do. We see the kids coming in for sweets after school and the elderly residents stopping by for their tea and sugar. It’s a nice community to be in, and we just keep doing our thing every day without making any big fuss about it. The work is steady and that’s enough for us.
