Chaaypani

Chaaypani is located right on M G Road, which is pretty much the heart of everything around here. We’re in a spot where there’s always a crowd passing by, which keeps us on our toes from morning until late evening. It’s a simple setup—we make tea and snacks for whoever stops in. Some people are in a massive rush to get to their offices, while others just want to sit for five minutes and forget about the traffic outside. We don’t have a big corporate manual on how to talk to people; we just say hello and get the orders moving. The kitchen stays hot, and there’s usually a bit of a mess during the lunch hour rush, but we clean it up as we go. We’ve tried to keep the place feeling comfortable, like somewhere you’d actually want to hang out without feeling pressured to leave. The furniture is basic, and the walls might need a fresh coat of paint soon, but the tea is always hot and made the way people like it. We get all kinds of folks coming through—students, shopkeepers, and people just out for a walk. It’s a lot of work keeping things stocked and ready, especially when the weather is nice and everyone wants to be out. We don’t promise anything fancy, just a reliable place to get a drink and a bite. It’s just us doing our thing on a very busy street, making sure the kettle is always full.
