The Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association India is situated in the Sanath Nagar Industrial Estate at C- 25. It is a very practical location because we are right in the middle of all the industrial activity in this part of town. Being an association for manufacturers, it makes a lot of sense for us to be located where the factories and plants are. The building is a bit industrial looking, which fits right in with the neighborhood. It is mostly composed of offices and some meeting spaces where people from different companies come to talk about industry issues. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing letters to various agencies. It isn't a flashy place at all. There are files everywhere because we have to keep track of a lot of member information and industry news. The roads around Sanath Nagar get pretty crowded with trucks and delivery vans throughout the day. You get used to the constant sound of machinery and vehicles. Our staff is small but we stay very busy with the daily tasks. There is usually a pot of tea going in the small kitchen area. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just handle the administrative work that comes with running an association. It involves a lot of coordination and paperwork. Sometimes people drop by without an appointment, so someone is always sitting at the front desk. It feels like a very traditional office.
